Natural Day Look
It is not very often that I leave the house without my eyeliner, smokey eyeshadow and fake eyelashes…It is just a style that I love and I have always loved the process of “getting dolled up” to go anywhere. BUT…. I have moments where time doesn’t allow or I just don’t care— both of which happened this past weekend when my husband and I decided to meet up with my sister to see a movie. I jumped in the shower real quick and dried my hair, leaving about 5-10 minutes available for makeup. It wasn’t until I got to the movies and my sister awkwardly stared at my face and commented that she liked my “toned down” look that I realized I should do a quick blog post about a “get out the door” look. I have a few “5 min makeup looks” that are really quick and easy that I usually reserve for a day at home or running to the grocery store that I will share in the future….here is the one I wore Saturday:
Products Used:
MAC Eyeshadows in “Malt”, “Girlie” and “Ground Brown”, Maybelline Eyestudio Gel liner in “Blackest Black”, MAC Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre, Revlon Lipsticks in “Stormy Pink” and “Soft Nude”
PREP:
Apply your concealer on the entire lid up to the brow, around the whole eye and underneath the eye. Set with powder. Apply your eyeshadow primer on the entire lid of eye, up to the brow.
Step 1:
Apply “Malt” all over the lid of the eye, stopping at the brow bone. *** I have to say that “Malt” is my absolute new favorite color…it has a pinky softness to the tan color which looks fabulous as a base for everything. It will look something like this:
Step 2:
Using a fluffy brush, apply some “Girlie” to the lid part of the inside corner…just a little ways in. It should look something like this:
Step 3:
**If you want, you can add a highlight and stop here***. Using your fluffy brush, pick up some “Ground Brown” and apply it just to the crease and outer “V”…this is going to take barely any time because you are doing it with a big fluffy so you are blending as you apply. Take a few swipes back and forth over the eye to blend everything. Apply your highlight. Apply your favorite mascara and you are good to go! One more step that I did (but that takes some getting used to) is to apply gel liner to the upper waterline. I do this by tilting my head back in the mirror and just running an angle brush with gel liner over it. This will make the base of your lashes appear fuller. You will end up with an eye that looks like this:
The lipstick is actually two Revlon Colors mixed together…they are 2 of 3 of my go to colors that I always have in my purse (the third one is a purple color) because I can either wear each of alone or layer them. I put “Stormy Pink” on first and then layered some “Soft Nude” over it.
