Wearable Purples-light eye look

Happy Monday everyone!!!  I have a great tutorial for you today that uses purples in a fabulous wearable way by mixing them with a little brown for softness.  I switched up my lashes for you today because these have been lingering around my kit not getting any love and they have an oh so pretty flare at the end that I felt like wearing!  In case you love them too, they are Salon Perfect Demi Wispies.  If you don’t have these eyeshadow colors from MAC, use a cool taupey brown for “Coquette”, a shimmery pinky purple for “Star Violet”, a true deep purple for “Fig 1″ and a shimmery highlight with some pink in it for “Naked Lunch”.

Products Used:

MAC Eyeshadows in “Plum Dressing”, “Fig 1″, “Naked Lunch”, “Coquette”, Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in “Blackest Black”, MAC Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre”, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in “Cherish”

PREP:

Conceal the entire lid up to the brow, all around the eye and all underneath the eye.

Step 1:

Using a big fluffy brush, apply “Coquette” right above the crease from the outside all the way in.  It should look something like this:

Step 2:

Using a big fluffy, apply “Star Violet” to the lid from the outside corner in stopping right past the center of the eye.  It should look something like this:

Step 3:

Using a bullet brush, apply “Fig 1″ to the outer V and into the crease halfway across the eye.  Apply more “Fig 1″ to the lower lash line and round or “V” it at the outside corner so that it meets up with the “Fig 1″ on the top of the eye.  It should look something like this:

Step 4:

Using a stiff brush, apply “Naked Lunch” from the inside corner across to meet your “Star Violet”.  Apply a lighter highlight from the brow bone down into the inner corner.  Using a big fluffy, blend blend blend.  Apply your fake eyelashes.  Apply a coat of mascara to blend your fake lashes into your real lashes.  Go over any excess glue with your gel liner.  Line the your waterline with your gel liner and smudge any excess into your lashline with your bullet brush.  Using your bullet brush, apply some “Fig 1″ to the lower lash line. Your final product should look something like this:

and this:

I put some Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm in “Cherish” on my lips…I have been collecting them lately..I told you they were going to be my summer favorite!!!

Another lovely look :) I love that you use MAC products and the Maybelline liner is fantastic (I had never ventured into anything other than a pencil liner before). I find now that I’m lining my lower waterline, I get “migration” to the inside corner of my eye; looks like I have dirt collecting in the corner! Do you have any recommendations to stop that? Thanks!!

Hi Angela! So glad you love the Maybelline Liner–it is a wonderful drugstore gem! Unfortunately, I have the same issue and don’t have a solution…occasionally excess liner will come off and migrate to the corner. Just one of the pitfalls of putting liner on you waterline :( Something that easily gets it out without disturbing your makeup is a Q-tip!
